Thrustmaster Announces Universal '360 Modena Racing Wheel'

by Rainier on June 24, 2003 @ 11:09 a.m. PDT

Thrustmaster has taken the pole position in the race to create multi-platform accessories and is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of its Universal 360 Modena Racing Wheel. Under official license from Ferrari, Universal 360 Modena is 100% compatible with all video game consoles on the market: PlayStation2, PS one, GameCube and Xbox.

“Following the successful release of the Universal Challenge last year, Thrustmaster is aiming to satisfy an even greater number of gamers by offering them a universal wheel which features a larger rim and even more advanced functions,” states Eric Mindjimba, International Marketing Manager at Thrustmaster. “Many gamers own more than one console, giving rise to a real demand for multi-platform accessories. Add to that all the people who are planning to buy an additional console and the large number of gamers who would love to be able to use their accessories when playing with friends on a different platform, and the appeal of inclusive solutions such as the Universal 360 Modena becomes clear.”

Complete with a special electronic converter developed by Thrustmaster, the Universal 360 Modena Racing Wheel allows gamers to simply select their console type. All of its functions are immediately accessible for maximum realism and fun: two progressive gas and brake levers, two analog foot pedals, a vibrating motor for experiencing bumps and crashes, an 8-way D-pad and 8 action buttons.

Last but not least, Universal 360 Modena has been designed to provide the ultimate in gaming comfort: it comes with an exclusive knee-top system, allowing gamers to play while seated on a couch or chair.

Availability

The FerrariĀ®-licensed Universal 360 Modena Racing Wheel will be available from October 2003 at a suggested retail price of €44.99.
