Publisher Strategy First and award-winning developer Paradox Entertainment have announced today that their real-time strategy title, Europa Universalis: Crown of the North has shipped to retail stores nationwide. “Crown of the North is an intense real-time strategy game and perfect companion to the Europa Series,” explains Pro Sotos product manager for Strategy First. “It is a definite must-have for anyone who is a fan or who might want to become one!”

Europa Universalis Crown of the North takes players to a time and place in history seldom explored where they can discover the northern Scandinavian region of Europe during the early medieval period. The year is 1275, and both the nobility and church rule the population. Sweden is on the verge of civil war. Crown of the North lets players travel through history as Norway, Sweden or Denmark where they plot to change the legacy of each country.

Crown of the North includes five different game features: Europa Universalis II and Crown of the North (known as "Rike III" in Europe). It also includes three different MOD campaigns; the "Alternative Grand” campaign, "Independent Europe", and "Vinland".

Game Features Include

  • Choose between 3 kingdoms (Sweden, Denmark, Norway) and 6 different factions.
  • Survive the treacherous political intrigues of medieval politics.
  • Develop your kingdom into an economic, political and military power, but be careful not to alienate the church, nobility, peasants or the merchant class on your way to supremacy.
  • Includes 3 new fully playable campaigns set in the Europa Universalis II world: the Alternative Grand Campaign, Independent Europe and Vinland.
  • Play through LAN or the Internet against friends

Europa Universalis: Crown of the North has an ESRB rating of E for everyone and SRP of $39.99. For more information on please visit
