by Thomas on July 30, 2003 @ 1:15 a.m. PDT

Specialist driving game developer Eutechnyx has appointed Dave Thompson to its production staff. Dave joins the company as Executive Producer, where his primary responsibility is to head up SRS, Street Racing Syndicate, Eutechnyx' underground street racing game.

Dave has worked in the games industry for over sixteen years and previously headed up Midlands based developer, Smart Dog, a division of Titus. Although Smart Dog predominantly specialised in racing and tennis games, rumours that Eutechnyx are currently developing Anna Kournikova's Off-Road Challenge are completely unfounded. Based in Leamington Spa, Smart Dog employed 35 people and developed titles such as All Star Tennis, Roadsters and Downforce before it was recently sold to Titus after a developing a number of winning titles .

Prior to running Smart Dog, Dave worked at neighbouring Codemasters where he first worked with Eutechnyx Managing Director Brian Jobling. The result was the No.1 hit, Pete Sampras Tennis for the Sega Mega Drive. Prior to joining Codemasters, Dave worked for the much-lamented Ocean Software, now absorbed into the Infogrames group of companies, where Dave was the lead programmer for Daley Thompson's Olympic Challenge.

Says Thompson, "I'm absolutely delighted to have joined the production team at Eutechnyx. I first met Brian Jobling at the beginning of my career at Codemasters and since then I have been consistently impressed with the driving games that Eutechnyx has developed and their business-like approach to the industry."

Eutechnyx Managing Director Brian Jobling comments, "Dave's arrival marks another heavy-weight appointment for the production team at Eutechnyx, and follows the recent new addition of our other Executive Producer, Tony Parkes. Dave's track record in production and development roles plus his strong business and management experience gained in running his own company will be incredibly beneficial to our strategic growth plans."
