'Lock 'N Load: Unsung Heroes' Revealed

by Rainier on Aug. 13, 2003 @ 11:55 a.m. PDT

Shrapnel Games is pleased to announce the upcoming 1st Quarter 2004 release of Mark H. Walker's Lock 'N Load: Unsung Heroes—Elite Forces in Action 1950-2003. Second in the Lock 'N Load boardgame series of squad level actions by noted game industry writer Mark H. Walker, Unsung Heroes promises to deliver as much excitement as the first, while staying true to the "More game, less guff" mantra.

As the title suggests Unsung Heroes will not focus on one specific conflict. Instead of a narrow scope gamers will find themselves fighting around the world in the global hotspots of the past fifty-three years. From the brushfire wars of Africa, to the hills of Korea, to the bleak desolation of Afghanistan, you'll find a wide range of challenging battlefields and exciting combatants in the twenty included scenarios to test your tactical skill.

Once again Shrapnel Games and Mark H. Walker will deliver a boardgame of the highest quality. Gamers can expect to be thrilled once more with gorgeous counter and map artwork by some of the best artists in the industry. Over 400 counters will be included, along with a multitude of maps. VLnL, the computer aid that allows you to play Lock 'N Load online against other real live opponents, will also be found in the box.

Unsung Heroes is not an expansion pack, but a standalone game. Ownership of Forgotten Heroes: Vietnam is not required, although why you wouldn't already own it would be a mystery that even Sherlock Holmes couldn't solve. Internationally acclaimed, and considered by reviewers and fans alike as one of the best new board wargames to come out in years, Lock 'N Load: Forgotten Heroes: Vietnam has quickly become a favorite around the world. It has even been endorsed by the National Vietnam Veterans Art Museum in Chicago, Illinois!

Be sure to continue to check out the ShrapnelGames and Lock'N Loaded website for any updated information on Unsung Heroes as it becomes available. And if you're not already one of the numerous fans of the Lock 'N Load system download the demo and see the fun that you've been missing! After that you'll definitely want to pick up a copy through our secure online store. Lock 'N Load may very well be the last squad level game you'll ever need on your bookshelf.
