Sonic Heroes is designed to appeal to players of all ages and skill levels as they experiment with four unique teams comprised of classic Sonic friends and foes for a total of 12 playable characters. Sonic Heroes also includes seven multi-player mini-games to ensure maximum replay value.

Since its multi-platform release in January, 2004, Sonic Heroes has sold more than 1.83-million copies worldwide. Sonic The Hedgehog® has spanned several generations of videogame systems to appear in over 30 games that have sold more than 35 million units of software. Consistently a top-selling franchise, Sonic The Hedgehog continues to be a popular icon worldwide in 2004 and one of the most recognized and celebrated video game characters of all time.

1. Getting Started

1a. The Purpose of This Trial Version

This trial version offers a sneak peek into the retail version of the game, in addition to providing an opportunity to test game performance on your computer.
If you are unsure whether the game will run optimally on your computer, we strongly recommend trying out the Trial version first.

Please note that smooth performance with the Trial version does not guarantee that the retail version will run on your computer.

The trial version offers one area of gameplay for one team. The Save Game function is disabled in the trial version.

1b. System Requirements

Your computer must meet the following system requirements to run this game. The game may not run, or you may experience decreased performance on computers that do not fulfill these requirements.

Minimum System:

OS: Windows 98SE/Me/2000(SP2 or later)/XP
CPU: PentiumIII 1.0GHz equivalent or greater
RAM: 128MB or greater
Hard Disk Space: 160MB or greater (300MB required for Installation)
Video Card: Direct3D compatible video card (Video RAM 32MB or greater)
with newest graphics driver
Sound Card: DirectSound compatible sound card
Miscellaneous: DirectX9.0b or later
Controls: Keyboard, Mouse

Recommended System (refer to Minimum requirements above for unlisted items):

CPU: Pentium4 2.0GHz equivalent or greater
RAM: 256MB or greater

1c. Installing and Uninstalling the Game

Installation:

1) Double-click the game file to run the installer program.

2) Follow the on-screen instructions to install the game.

Note: You need to have DirectX 9.0b or later installed on your computer in order to run the game. This program is not included in the game file; please download the latest versions from Microsoft's website.

Uninstallation:
The game can be uninstalled using one of the following methods:

1) Select the uninstall option from your Windows Start Menu.

2) Select the game from the Add/Remove Programs list in your Windows Control Panel.

3) Double-click the game file and select the Uninstall option."

1d. Running the Game

Once you have installed the game, you can start playing by selecting the shortcut which has been added to your Windows Start Menu.

1e. Exiting the Game

Select 'Quit' in the PAUSE Menu when you want to exit the game. The game will always exit when Alt+F4 key is pushed.

1f. Configuring the Game

The game offers various options that can be configured for optimal performance.

If the game performs slowly, although your computer meets the system requirements, try lowering the screen resolution, turning off the Fogh, Anisotropic filter,
Shadow setting options, frame rate and/or clipping settings, and/or switch to fullscreen mode if you are playing in window mode.
