About Judy

As WP's senior editor, I edit review and preview articles, attempt to keep up with the frantic pace of Rainier's news posts, and keep our reviewers on deadline, which is akin to herding cats. When I have a moment to myself and don't have my nose in a book, I like to play action/RPG, adventure, music/rhythm and platforming games.

by Judy on Dec. 22, 2004 @ 7:59 a.m. PST

As promised, Starbreeze has now released the level editing tools for its action game The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay - Developer's Cut. This v1.10 toolset includes the Riddick GDK which allows you to edit the Riddick levels, but also requires you to have the latest Ogier level editor (v1.3), Starbreeze's game engine (thanks 3DGamers). Starbreeze is proud to present Ogier, a tool for creating levels in brush-based engines. Ogier has been in development within Starbreeze since September 1998.
It was released to the public for in January 2004 as a Christmas present for the persons out there that wanted to build levels for Enclave.

Ogier is a part of the Starbreeze Engine, and has support for editing levels for games using that engine. Currently, you can download editing support for the Enclave, Knights of the Temple and The Chronicles of Riddick. Ogier can also export and import the .map file format and load .wad textures, so creating levels for games using these file-formats is a possibility.
