"Team17 and its Worms franchise has developed a devoted fan base over the years by combining in-depth strategy with over-the-top weaponry and humor," said David Skelton, Brand Manager for Acclaim. "We believe that loyal Worms fans will be delighted with the transition from 2D to 3D, while new fans will immediately fall in love with its addictively fun gameplay."

Worms 3D enhances the classic Worms gameplay, including favorite series' weapons such as ninja ropes, jetpacks and super sheep, as well as hilarious new weapons that were designed to take advantage of the new liberating 3D landscape. Worms 3D also includes fully destructible environments, more than 100 unlockable hidden features and a wide variety of single and multiplayer modes. Worms 3D includes head-to-head online play for both the PC and Xbox®.

Worms 3D is currently available for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the Nintendo GameCubeTM and PC, each at a suggested retail price of $29.99. The game will be available for the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft later this spring and will feature head-to-head play via Xbox LiveTM.
