'Desert Rats vs. Afrika Korps' Ships To Stores

This 3D tactical strategy game recreates some of the epic battles between British and German forces during the North African campaign of WWII. Desert Rats vs. Afrika Korps offers players the chance to follow the destinies of English or German commanders, once friends but now enemies in war. Set across two campaigns and 20 missions, players engage in missions ranging from reconnaissance operations, escort missions, search and destroy missions and large scale
sieges of enemy bases.

Desert Rats vs. Afrika Korps features 70 authentic and highly detailed combat units, including planes, tanks and APC's, each vulnerable to location specific damage. Soldier units are shown in equal detail; machine gunners, flamethrowers, snipers and grenadiers can be viewed from an up close perspective all the way out to the platoon level. The game engine incorporates full 3D gameplay and highly realistic graphics such as real-time shadowing, damage effects, explosions and weather effects. To help players better plan and strategize their attacks, players can customize their forces from a menu of available units, as well as mission and special units. Desert Rats vs. Afrika Korps also incorporates a turn-based element to the real-time experience by including a Pause feature where up to three moves be planned in advance during a mission.

Desert Rats vs. Afrika Korps supports multiplayer for up to four players in Deathmatch and Conquer mode over LAN or Internet via GameSpy Arcade. Multiplayer also includes the unique "Tobruk to El-Alamein" mode, where players attempt to destroy their enemy's base while each receiving reinforcements during combat.

Published for Windows(r) PC, Desert Rats vs. Afrika Korps should arrive on store shelves by the end of this week at a suggested retail price of $39.99. The game is rated "T" (for Teen) by the ESRB. For more information on the game, visit the website at www.desertrats-game.com.
