by Rainier on May 6, 2004 @ 10:34 a.m. PDT

Encore today announced its title lineup for the 2004 Electronic Entertainment Expo, May 12-14 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This year, Encore (Booth #510, South Hall) debuts a new brand of intense wartime flight combat for console and PC, a successful survival horror hit to the PC, as well as fast-paced multiplayer tactical combat for FPS fans on the PC.

Heroes of the Pacific

Recently announced for the PlayStation(r) 2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox(r) video game system from Microsoft and Windows(r) PC, Heroes of the Pacific is a flight combat game that puts players at the controls of the fiercest fighter planes of WWII, in an era where dog-fighting and aerial combat skill meant the difference between victory or defeat for the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre. With an intense storyline spanning over 30 missions, players will participate in large scale pivotal battles against Japanese forces at historic locations like Midway Island, Iwo Jima, the Coral Sea and Guadalcanal. The single player campaign will be complemented by split-screen and online multiplayer combat for console and PC platforms.

Heroes of the Pacific is scheduled to ship for all three platforms this winter.

The Suffering

Fresh from the success of the hit console version, PC gamers will now have the chance to experience the fear and terror of Abbott State Penitentiary in this version of Midway's survival horror game for Windows PC. The Suffering combines a chilling storyline with third person action and adventure to create one of the most frightening and horrifying experiences available on the PC. Players assume the role of Torque, a man convicted of a horrible crime that he may or may not have committed. He's sentenced to life in Abbott State Penitentiary, a haunted place that hides a terrible secret, one that threatens both the prison guards and the hardened criminals that call this isolated hell home. The Suffering has enjoyed great success on console platforms, receiving high marks and critical acclaim from top gamer and consumer press such as PSE2, Maxim, Stuff, and IGN.com.

The Suffering is scheduled to ship for Windows PC in late May.

Soldner: Secret Wars

Soldner: Secret Wars takes team based warfare to the next level on the PC. On a battlefield spanning 18 million square miles featuring fully destructible terrain, you can join a team of mercenaries and engage in fierce firefights with up to 32 players. Your tools of the trade can be chosen from over 60 realistic weapons, including machine guns, sniper rifles, rocket launchers and missiles. Your team also has access to an armory of over 70 combat vehicles for land and air, from the Harrier VTOL jet, to the Apache gunship to the M1A2 Abrams tank. In addition to traditional multiplayer modes, Soldner also incorporates a CMM (Customizable Multiplayer Mode) system that enables players to create unique multiplayer scenarios involving rescuing hostages, protecting VIP's, stealing secret documents and capturing vehicles.

Soldner: Secret Wars is scheduled to ship for Windows PC in June.
