About Judy

As WP's senior editor, I edit review and preview articles, attempt to keep up with the frantic pace of Rainier's news posts, and keep our reviewers on deadline, which is akin to herding cats. When I have a moment to myself and don't have my nose in a book, I like to play action/RPG, adventure and platforming games.

'Xpand Rally' Goes Gold

by Judy on Sept. 2, 2004 @ 7:09 a.m. PDT

The game introduces stages consisting of one of eight types of surfaces as well as of mixed characteristics. Players will be able to test their skills on both: long straights during incredibly fast trials and difficult curves where driving technique is the key.

Graphics in Xpand Rally has been prepared to realistically simulate conditions on real racing special stages. Driving through dense European forests on narrow gravel roads, on snowy asphalt of icy North or in wilds of dry Africa – these are just examples of game’s attractions. Starts happening at various day times will additionally make every ride in the game diverse and every track looking exceptionally each time it is seen.

Techland points out that in some game modes the player will be able to move on the terrain without any restrictions which makes the number of available tracks virtually infinite and is something innovative in the game’s genre.
