The various cities of Auto Assault's Central Wastelands are safe havens for the lucky survivors of a catastrophe that nearly shuffled all mankind off the mortal coil. As a man-about-town, the character avatar appears as a walking, talking entity. But the highways are a different matter and the only chance one has for safely reaching his destination is to do so behind the wheel.

Not only can you outfit your vehicle with the latest technological advancements in doodads and gizmos that go "BOOM!" but you can also customize the appearance with special paint jobs (Trims) and add-ons (Tricks). With chameleon-like cunning, you can give unwitting enemies a false sense of security, disguising your dread death mobile as a harmless junk heap with a rusted cattle guard or let them know in a glance you mean business with bright red flames painted across the hood as precursors to the smoldering carnage they are about to become.

To change your car's appearance, all it takes is a quick visit to one of the Body Shops found in towns throughout the wastelands. A small fee may be charged for adding or swapping Tricks and Trims on your vehicle. For either, you'll need to gather the materials required for the makeover, but that's not a difficult task for the sly and resourceful inhabitants of this post-apocalyptic arcadia. Once you've blasted a few TemperNet to tiny bits, scrounging a paint can or two is a cake walk.
