Adventure is waiting, play the movie! Based on the feature film directed by Jon Favreau ("Elf") and the best-selling children's book by Chris Van Allsburg ("The Polar Express", "Jumanji") players will experience outer space like never before. The intergalactic journey begins when a mysterious board game thrusts the house of two young brothers, Walter and Danny, into outer space. The boys must put aside their sibling rivalry, and players must utilize each character's unique strengths, to survive each challenge. Battle deadly aliens, menacing robots and other celestial hazards in this space journey filled with action-packed adventure in order to get back home safely to planet Earth.

In Columbia Pictures' heart-racing sci-fi family film Zathura: A Space Adventure, two squabbling brothers are propelled into deepest, darkest space while playing a mysterious game they discover in the basement of their old house.

On their fantastic journey, they are joined by a stranded astronaut and must survive meteor showers, hostile lizard-like aliens, a rocket-propelled robot run amok and an intergalactic spaceship battle.

But their greatest peril lies ahead. For unless they finish the game and reach the planet Zathura, they are doomed to be trapped in outer space forever.

Zathura: A Space Adventure is based on the best-selling book by the acclaimed children's writer Chris Van Allsburg (The Polar Express, Jumanji) with a screenplay by David Koepp & John Kamps. The film stars Josh Hutcherson, Jonah Bobo, Dax Shepard, Kristin Stewart and Oscar(R) winner Tim Robbins. The film is directed by Jon Favreau (Elf) and produced by William Teitler, Scott Kroopf and Michael De Luca.

The video game Zathura features levels spanning the universe, including film environments, as well as those hinted at in the film and book. Gamers will battle more than 36 dangerous alien adversaries, including lizard-like Zorgons, rampaging robots and other bizarre space creatures.

"The Zathura video game truly brings to life the adventurous plot featured in the highly anticipated movie and best-selling book," said Christoph Hartmann, Managing Director of 2K Games. "Gamers will be immersed in the intergalactic world of Zathura where they can create their very own space adventure."

"We are extremely excited to have 2K Games as our video gaming partner for Zathura. They have done a tremendous job of expanding the film's storyline into a fun game play experience", said Mark Caplan, Executive Director, Interactive, Sony Pictures Consumer Products.

In the game, players embark on an intergalactic journey when a mysterious board game transports the house of two young brothers into outer space. Gamers can play as either of the two brothers, Walter and Danny, or a rampaging robot as they utilize each character's unique strengths and abilities. To return the brothers safely back to earth, players must defeat deadly aliens, menacing robots and other celestial hazards in this action-packed space adventure for the whole family.
