The player takes role of a gunfighter who travels around the Western part of the North American continent. He faces the most dangerous scum of the Western frontier in furious duels. With fast shooting and smart moves he has to be better than his enemies. To do so, he has to master pistols, guns, shotguns and become the fastest of all.
During the design work the game was given a totally new formula, which was also reflected by the change of the name. Pawe³ Zawodny, Development Director at Techland, said: 'At first, the game was supposed to be a fast-paced shooter, with a distinct arcade feel. It was perfectly characterized by the last year's E3 leaflet slogan "action driven with the gameplay based on the fast and accurate shooting'. Finally however, we've decided to step away from the simple arcade gameplay, having a really serious deep shooter instead, with a strong focus on the plot. We treat the project with the highest priority and we want the game to be seen as serious 'player' in the FPP shooter market, despite the Wild West themed action'.
The game plot is based on a classic conflict between two distinctive heroes. With an innovative gameplay the game will allow gamers to play as both characters. Thanks to the newest version of the Chrome Engine 2005 gamers will have the sensation of participating in an interactive western, although the plot indicates rather an anti-western. The developer ensures that the game will not miss the multiplayer mode either.
