Telltale Inc, currently working on comic book adaptation Bone, announced the worldwide launch of its character based poker game Telltale Texas Hold’Em!, in which the player squares off against four wacky characters, all with their own individual playing styles. The engaging PC title is unique among video poker games, focusing on the characters more than the cards.

“Texas Hold’Em is a phenomenon right now, not only as a card game, but also as an entertainment experience,” said Telltale CEO Dan Connors. “Our character personality A.I. system allows us to capture the character interplay of a real Texas Hold’Em game better than any other poker game available for download or at retail.”

Telltale Texas Hold’Em! is a 3D game with fully animated characters and over 1,800 lines of dialogue, all delivered to the user in a download of less than 25 megabytes. By making the game available for download, Telltale hopes to reach a wider audience, “Our goal is to build retail quality games for the downloadable space that can be enjoyed by everybody,” said Connors.
