Dark Age of Camelot developer Mythic Entertainment today made a new version of the game's 14-day free trial broadly available for download to players new to the compelling world of "Camelot." This trial version incorporates many new features, which Mythic recently introduced as part of the latest in a series of free major upgrades. The 14-day trial is available for download.

"With all the upgrades we have made to improve the new user experience in our game, there has never been a better time to join 'Dark Age of Camelot,'" said Mark Jacobs, president and CEO of Mythic Entertainment. "Our goal with this trial version was to create an ideal introduction for players unfamiliar with 'Dark Age of Camelot's' unique setting and features, including our industry-leading Realm vs. Realm system of PvP combat."

"Dark Age of Camelot's" new player tutorial features a step-by-step guide to the game that utilizes professional voiceover talent, and leaves players with a clear understanding of how to get started with the game. In addition to the tutorial, Mythic added a video that introduces the game's three Realms and the game's unique form of PvP combat, Realm vs. Realm.

The latest in a series of regular free updates since the game's first release, the update also adds a host of new missions to Realm vs. Realm play including "Caravan Guarding," and introduces "Tower Razing," which allows players to see towers actually crumble to the ground in RvR combat.

"Dark Age of Camelot" is a next generation massively-multiplayer online role-playing game ("MMORPG"), and features state-of-the-art 3D graphics with multiple class and race combinations, a robust trade skill system, and the most comprehensive player Guild system in any MMORPG. The world of "Dark Age of Camelot" features three Realms at war – Midgard, Hibernia and Albion. Based on the mythologies of Viking-era Scandinavia, ancient Ireland, and Arthurian Britain, respectively, the once-peaceful Realms began to battle after the death of King Arthur. Players quest, fight monsters, form guilds and eventually gain enough power to defend their Realm from enemies.
