'Ski-Doo X-Team Racing' (PS2/Xbox/PC) Announced

by Rainier on April 19, 2005 @ 3:53 p.m. PDT

Back in 2001 Mindscape released DayDream's Ski-Doo X-Team Racing, and now that Resolution Interactive has acquired the rights, it will update the game with the latest 2006 sled models from Bombardier, update the engine and also port it to Xbox and PS2.

A choice of beautiful, detailed locations such as skiing resorts, frozen lakes and indoor stadiums, play host to tracks that vary in length, intensity and difficulty. Different racing conditions will test your skills to the limit, from deep, soft powder snow to wind-polished, unforgiving ice.

Let all senses soak in the high-octane fumes, vibrations and roaring sounds of the thoroughbred Rotax horsepowers - anxiously waiting to be released at the starting line. Shift your body weight to find that perfect hold. Then, at the signal, send the full throttle message and feel the awesome power of your MX Z as it rips through the snow and ice leaving the competition eating Slush Puppie.

You got a variety of sled types to choose from, all of which can be tuned to give optimal performance in the challenges that await. Sledneck wannabes will surely have their fill of sick stunting. Choose between 15 actual snowmobiling stunts with varying difficulty. Maximize your hang times or do combos to push the limits. This may just be the most X-treme racing experience that can be found on a computer.

Resolution Interactive AB and Bombardier Recreational Products Inc (BRP) have signed a Licence Agreement for snowmobile game Ski-Doo X-Team Racing for PC featuring the new sled models of 2006. BRP will use the game as a marketing tool during upcoming seasons, while Resolution is given the rights to exploit the game on markets worldwide.

Matti Larsson, CEO, Resolution Interactive, “The Ski-Doo agreement gives us distribution channels and marketing support to make the game successful. Online multiplayer and dynamic in-game advertisement is supported as part in our strategy to spearhead online game technology and innovation”.

During two snowmobile seasons (2005-06 and 2006-07) two demo versions of the X-Team Racing game for PC will be featured on the official Ski-Doo website, www.ski-doo.com, and Freestyle website, www.ridefreestyle.com, which has on average 450,000 visits per month, with a peak of 1 million at launch of new models.

“Ski-Doo X-Team Racing is a great example of game technology used as a marketing tool towards new customer segments. The game will be featuring the new Freestyle which is designed for the next generation of snowmobilers. It is a great opportunity for BRP to offer a priceless visibility for this new model to a generation delighted by video games”, says BRP Marketing Manager Marc-AndrĂ© Dubois.
