NCsoft today announced that it is continuing its licensing relationship with Epic Games by licensing Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 technology and tools. NCsoft has been working with the prior version of the Unreal Engine and has had spectacular results. Lineage II is one of the most successful MMORPG and is based on Unreal Engine 2 technology.

“We have been very pleased with the support and technology Epic has provided in the past,” said Harry Kim , Chief Strategic Officer of NCsoft . “We are especially excited to be working with Unreal Engine 3. The new tools, technology and content pipeline will allow us to achieve stunning, next-generation, results in the least amount of time possible.”

“NCsoft was the first company to use Unreal Engine in a massively-multiplayer online role-playing game and they did a fantastic job making us extremely proud.” said Mark Rein, vice president of Epic Games. “We’re thrilled to see them licensing the latest Unreal Engine 3 technology and we can’t wait to see the results.”
