D3Publisher of America, Inc. today announced the expansion of its Los Angeles office with the addition of two new executives. D3PA, a subsidiary of D3Publisher, with headquarters in Tokyo, established its Los Angeles office on November 1, 2004.

"We have staffed the North American office with top industry executives that have extensive backgrounds in the market," said Yoji Takenaka, executive vice president and chief operating officer of D3PA. "Our goal for D3PA is to become a key player in the video game industry in North America."

D3PA recently added Kim Motika as vice president of sales and operations and Alison Quirion as vice president of marketing. Motika comes to D3PA with more than 20 years of combined experience as both a senior executive and management consultant in the interactive entertainment software industry. Motika served as a senior executive for 10 years with Interplay Entertainment, including positions as vice president of strategic development and vice president of sales. Prior to her tenure at Interplay, Motika held executive positions at Ashton-Tate, SoftMart, and Ingram Micro, representing more than $150 million in sales.

As vice president of marketing, Alison Quirion brings more than 11 years of experience in the interactive entertainment software industry to D3PA. Prior to joining D3PA, Quirion was the director of global brand management at THQ, Inc. where she oversaw the marketing team responsible for core games and the Disney/Pixar product line, representing more than $150 million in annual domestic sales. From 1999 to 2001, Quirion was a senior product manager of core games at THQ, Inc., where she managed the day-to-day marketing and brand development of console, handheld and PC games.

"For 2005, we have a very select release schedule focusing on platforms and genres where we see market opportunities," Takenaka continued. "In 2006 D3PA will expand our reach through licensed properties on existing platforms and developing original games for new platforms."

D3Publisher of America, Inc. is a subsidiary of D3Publisher, with headquarters in Tokyo. D3Publisher of America's strategic focus is on licensed and original titles from leading third-party developers that appeal to mass-market consumers or gaming enthusiasts.
