God Of War makes powerful use of the darkly imaginative world of Ancient Greek mythology, where the realms of the mortal and the divine collide in a pervasive atmosphere of brute force and violence. Playing as Kratos, throughout the game players will wield double blades bound to his body by long chains, weapons symbolic of this vicious world to which he is bound and the fate from which he seeks to escape.Set in ancient Greece, vidgame follows the battles of the warrior Kratos, who tackles mythological beasts including Medusa, Cyclops and the Hydra. Players navigate Kratos on his quest to find Pandora's Box and destroy Ares, the god of war.
Game, created by David Jaffe and Shannon Studstill, was released in March.
Mosaic has not yet attached a scribe or helmer to the project.
"We've been enthralled by this project since our first time playing the game in March and realized its narrative had great potential for large-screen production," Roven said.
Mosaic is a producer on Dimension's upcoming "Brothers Grimm." Recent producer credits include "Batman Begins" at Warner Bros. and U's "Kicking & Screaming," as well as both "Scooby-Doo" pics.
Overseeing the project for Universal is veep Jeff Kirschenbaum.
