by Rainier on Sept. 20, 2005 @ 3:27 p.m. PDT

Picking up immediately where the original Myst ended, players are presented the privilege, challenge and responsibility of restoring the lost empire of the D'niTM – an ancient civilisation of people who thrived for thousands of years but later met with a great catastrophe. Like each previous Myst title, Myst V: End of Ages advances the graphical beauty and detail of its worlds with a fully immersive 3D environment. Cyan carefully crafted and combined elements of adventure, puzzles, storyline and gameplay innovation creating a worthy ending to the one game to which millions will forever compare any adventure title – Myst.

"It's bittersweet launching Myst V: End of Ages, the final chapter of the Myst story," says Tony Kee, vice president of marketing at Ubisoft. "But we are also really excited about the innovation and new features of the game and can't wait until the fans get their hands on it. What better way to send off the greatest adventure game of all time than with the best installment of the series."

Rand Miller, co-creator of Myst and founder of Cyan Worlds, and his Spokane-based development team have brought the final episode and storyline to a close in its most dramatic and immersive experience to date, with photorealistic 3D scenes, innovative new slate and in-game help systems, and intricate puzzles with depth like no adventure game before. The release of the game also coincides with the 12th anniversary of the franchise's debut.
