'NHL 06' (NGC/PS2/Xbox/PC) Skates Into Retail

by Rainier on Sept. 7, 2005 @ 1:01 p.m. PDT

With NHL 06 players can score like a superstar, express themselves through their shooting style with the new EA SPORTS Skill Stick and light the lamp with highlight reel moves such as spinoramas, toe drags, bat-ins, and between-the-legs shots. Classic deke control adds to the arsenal of moves allowing maneuvers around defensemen before snapping off dangerous shots that can ripple the twine and knock the water bottle off the net.

EA SPORTS NHL 06 lets you take complete control of every scoring opportunity and become an offensive superstar. It features an all-new Skill Stick and the return of classic deke controls, letting you express your playing style by pulling off the highlight reel moves of an NHL All-Star. With an all-new intuitive control scheme that provides smoother gameplay, NHL 06 delivers a complete game experience true to the sport itself.

Vincent Lecavalier, the highly-skilled assistant captain of the Tampa Bay Lightning and one of the most decorated young stars in the NHL, graces the cover of NHL 06. In 2003-04, Lecavalier, 25, led the Lightning to the Stanley Cup Championship in an exciting seven-game series against the Calgary Flames. Three months later, Lecavalier was named the Most Valuable Player during the 2004 World Cup of Hockey and lead Team Canada to the gold medal.

NHL 06, developed by EA Canada in Vancouver, B.C., is available on the PS2, Xbox, GameCube, and PC this fall.

The game is rated "E10+" (Everyone 10+) by the ESRB.
