'Tactical Manager' Franchise Being Brought Back To Life

by Rainier on Jan. 13, 2006 @ 10:13 a.m. PST

IncaGold announced the return of the flagship football management brand Tactical Manager. 2006 will see releases of "Tactical Manager 2006" in March, "Tactical Manager: International Championship 2006" in May and "Tactical Manager 2006/2007 Season" in September.

The original "Tactical Manager" was top of the Gallap charts during the 1994 World Cup when Black Legend/Kompart UK made it one of the best selling games within its genre. The new version is being developed by original developer Talking Birds, which brought many innovations to the original game and will continue to break new ground with the next batch of releases. The games will be released around the world in various languages; the German version will reuse the original's German product name, "Der Trainer".

Richard M. Holmes, CEO of Isle of Man-based IncaGold plc, commented "We understand the competition is tough within the football management genre but the attention-to-detail and the expertise that is going into the new "Tactical Manager" series will be instantly recognisable by connoisseurs and even casual gamers of this kind of footballing experience."

"The development team has a background entrenched in creating football management games. When Tactical Manager first appeared it proved you could make it to the top if you understood what gamers wanted and this time around we believe this will again compete with the top selling football management titles and will be billed as the most in-depth football management game on the market."

Camy Maertens, head of Essex-based Talking Birds, added, "It is a pleasure to team up with Richard and IncaGold. Richard was the CEO of Black Legend at the time of the release of the first "Tactical Manager" and also was the company's producer for the title. I am sure we can re-connect with the success of back then – after all, 2006 is World Cup year again!"
