Octagon Entertainment Sets Up Development Unit

by Rainier on Jan. 4, 2006 @ 2:05 a.m. PST

Octagon Entertainment announced today that it has set up a unit that delivers computer and video games on-time and on-budget. Octagon's development services business grew from virtually no revenue eighteen months ago to a multi-million dollar business in 2005.

Serving media companies from film, television and game publishing, Octagon delivers games at lower cost and reduced risk by using experienced contractors with proven in-genre, on-platform technology.

To better serve its customers and meet the growing demand for its services, Octagon has added two of the industry's proven talents to its production staff. Marc Racine, a co-founder of Vicious Cycle Software and Project Manager at Hasbro, joins Octagon as its Senior Producer. Marc will manage Octagon's production staff and help refine its innovative production management methodology. Paul Potera, a principal of Sinister Games and former Ubisoft Studio Manager, joins Octagon as a Producer responsible for managing some of its most challenging projects. The addition of Marc and Paul allows Octagon to build from its current customer base among traditional game companies and major media firms to also service consumer goods, advertising agencies and other brand customers.

Kirk Owen, Octagon's President, comments "By setting up a development services unit and bringing Marc and Paul to the team, we can now capitalize on other great development opportunities and still realize our mission of delivering quality games on-time and on-budget."
