Former DICE Canada Employees Found REDJADE

by Rainier on Oct. 16, 2006 @ 9:55 a.m. PDT

Formed by former employees of DICE Canada, closed by EA last week, REDJADE announces the opening of its offices and business. The development team was known for numerous titles in the Battlefield game franchise, and will focus its efforts on supplying art creation services for the PC as well as current and next generation consoles.

REDJADE is led by Founder and CEO, Fredrik Liliegren, an 18 year veteran of the Interactive Entertainment Industry having previously held position of CEO of Digital Illusions CE AB. Under his leadership, the organization grew from 4 to 48 employees and made its initial public offering on the Swedish Stock Exchange (1998). Liliegren then moved on to the previous incarnation of REDJADE Inc., based in Palo Alto, California (US) where he held the position of CEO and CCO. After securing $10M USD in initial funding, REDJADE rapidly expanded to 65 employees by the end of its first year. In 2001, Liliegren returned to DICE as the Studio Manager of CE Digital Illusions Canada Inc (a Canadian-based subsidiary of Digital Illusions CE AB) and has held this role since.

"I am thrilled to officially open our doors for business. We have a very talented team composed of seasoned veterans who have worked on several high profile titles for globally recognized game franchises," said Fredrik Liliegren, CEO of REDJADE Inc. "REDJADE has strong opportunities for growth. This sector of the industry is just now coming into limelight as the game industry is adapting and seeking more flexible and efficient development processes. We're confident that our creative approach and well established processes will address a need in this industry."
