TimeGate Studios Developing MMO

Timegate is not only working with Unreal Engine 3, as today it announced a licensing agreement with Emergent that provides TimeGate with the full suite of Emergent Elements for use in developing an upcoming MMO game.

TimeGate will use Emergent's Gamebryo Element game engine in addition to the Metrics, Server and Automation Elements - breakthrough new tools for building, testing and managing games. The company will also tap Emergent's Live Game Services to bring the game online and manage it after deployment.

"TimeGate is applying a truly revolutionary approach to crafting their next game, and Emergent is providing them with the perfect match of comprehensive tools and services to bring their vision to life," said Geoffrey Selzer, CEO of Emergent. "Anyone who wants to see the future of game development in action should look no further than TimeGate and this collaboration. These tools are powerful on their own, but together with TimeGate's innovative approach on both game design and development, the collaboration holds the potential to be absolutely transformative. As the only independent software company focused on the game industry's problems as a system architecture challenge, we are delighted to be working with such a forward-thinking and proven partner."

"We have a long history with Emergent, having used the Gamebryo Element to make both Axis and Allies and our critically acclaimed Kohan series," said Adel Chaveleh, President and CEO of TimeGate Studios. "This new project is very ambitious and conceptually innovative and calls for a robust, integrated, turnkey solution - a system that will allow us to make our online transition seamless. We are confident that Emergent's technology is the best choice to meet that challenge."

Emergent Elements, a family of modular tools designed to give developers the flexibility and control they need, is comprised of the following products:

  • Gamebryo Element: The most flexible game engine in the world, now optimized for use in PS3 and Xbox 360 titles, as well as for PC.
  • Metrics Element: New technology that unleashes the power of data in every area of game development and deployment.
  • Automation Element: The linchpin of Elements integration will be the most powerful, transformative new tool in game development.
  • Server Element: Emergent's breakthrough framework for deploying online games is being architected for unprecedented flexibility and control regardless of game type, from peer-to-peer to MMOG and everything in between.

Emergent's Live Game Services offering provides a full turnkey solution for developers of online games, from hosting to account setup and billing - completely integrated with the full line of Emergent Elements to make a seamless transition from development to ongoing live operations.
