Capcom to Shy Away from Exclusives And Focus on Multiplatform Titles

by Rainier on Oct. 31, 2006 @ 3:34 p.m. PST

Capcom's President and CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto made a few interesting statements during the company's annual report. Because of the higher next-gen development costs, Capcom intends to implement a multi-platform strategy, marketing a single title for different game consoles, thereby expanding sales and optimizing profits. A new multiplatform development engine has been created to further improve efficiency. Capcom believes the next-generation game consoles market is declining, while online games, especially PC, are growing rapidly, so a new company will be established, first in Asia, to explore that trend.
