by Rainier on Nov. 24, 2006 @ 11:26 a.m. PST

Carnage is an adrenaline fuelled driving and combat frenzy, a new global sport. In this Hugely Multiplayer Game (HMG) the world’s best combat drivers showcase their battle skills in vast arenas to earn fame and fortune by going the extra mile.

The world’s best combat drivers now showcase their skills in vast arenas to earn fame and fortune by going the extra mile. Can you match their expertise? Can you control the power at your feet, the weapons at your fingertips and survive the onslaught to beat the rest? To be the best takes skill, courage and survival instinct. You have your chance, your ride and now it’s up to you…

Bouncer

The Bouncer traces its origins back to the heady days of the SUV before the global backlash against fossil fuels. Now one of the few SUVs sanctioned to participate in Carnage events, the Bouncer is a formidable platform. Designed to perform on road and excel off road, whilst carrying a heavy weapon payload, the Bouncer is still relatively nimble for its size. Sporting a light and strengthened chassis compared to the standard road version, the Bouncer weighs in at just over 2 tonnes in its standard livery. When fitted out with armour, its weight can reach nearly 3 tonnes. Capable of mounting a large weapon on its rear turret, the Bouncer’s payload is complemented by dual firing, wing-mounted secondary armaments. The Bouncer has generous provision for secondary modules such as targeting computers and damage control systems, and a single equipment slot provides access to smoke, nitrous, EMP or shield options.

Hugger

The hugger is a fast, slight vehicle that has limited armour but outstanding handling characteristics. Able to mount powerful engines and retain the ability to corner at high speed, the Hugger is predominantly the ride of pro drivers, ideally suited to wide asphalt areas and unsuited to off road or stunt stages. The Hugger is one of the new generation of vehicles that has evolved purely to participate in Carnage arenas. Seen as a clinical machine, the Hugger is able to destroy more powerful foes in the hands of a talented driver, but has little space to mount targeting aids or damage limitation systems and is very vulnerable to heavy calibre weapons. The hugger can mount a medium size turret weapon and a medium armament but only has a single component slot and equipment bay.

Roadster

The Roadster is based on traditional mid-engine, rear wheel drive designs, but modified to complement handling and power with a balance of armour and firepower. The Roadster is a boxy, sleek vehicle of average weight and all round ability, and is as happy on road as off. The Carnage Accreditation Board directs that all new Carnage drivers gain their combat licenses whilst driving the Roadster. The Roadster is a firm favourite and can pack a fair punch with a medium turret mounting and two small side armament mountings. Complemented with two component slots and a single equipment bay, the Roadster is a good all rounder and offers massive upgrade potential with chassis and power modifications being readily available.
