'Gothic 3' Demo Coming Friday

by Rainier on Nov. 8, 2006 @ 11:10 a.m. PST

JoWooD, Deep Silver and Piranha Bytes announced that in two days time, for all those that have not yet played Gothic 3 and experienced the incredible vastness of this RPG, they will be able to dip into the living real world with the release of the Gothic 3 demo, on Friday 10 November. We will of course have it available on our fileserver network

At the start of this immense demo, you`ll be teared both into the beginning of the game and the exciting world of Myrtana by interacting with the folks and taking care of their troubles in Ardea, Reddock and Kap Dun. Kill the furious beasts of the wilderness, get your first useful and lethal items and step farther into the revealing storyline. In this demo, you`ll be facing two of the main factions – the orcs and the rebels. Choose wisely for whom your sword will fight!

You have saved the island of Khorinis from the forces of evil in Gothic I and Gothic II, but now now it is time to travel to the realms of the mainland, as invading Orcs have enslaved the human kingdom. There are but a few free humans in the icy north and the southern desert and a handful of rebels hiding in the forests and mountains of Midland.

You may either join the rebellion or serve the Orcish Usurpers but you will ultimately tip the scales and decide the outcome of the last war to save humanity.

There is no simple linear story in Gothic III - every game will be different and unique - but all will ultimately lead to you deciding the fate of humankind.
