Midway Setting Up Shop In France

by Rainier on Feb. 27, 2006 @ 9:24 a.m. PST

Midway today announced that it has expanded its international operations with the formation of a new subsidiary, Midway Games SAS, and the establishment of a new office in Paris, France, which will handle Midway's sales and marketing in France with some sales being retained with current distributor Nobilis.

"With the addition of our French subsidiary to our other European sales offices in Germany, established in early 2005, and the UK, we now have a direct presence in territories that represent the majority of software sales in Europe," said David F. Zucker, president and chief executive officer of Midway. "Growth and expansion in the European territories continues to be a major initiative for Midway, and we believe this move establishes Midway as a force in the European territory."

A seasoned professional, Seux has worked with high quality brands such as Colgate and Palmolive before spending six years as Sales Director for Activision. The French team will be further strengthened by additional industry talent in the forthcoming months.

"France is a key European territory for Midway, and we are eager to improve our market share there," said Martin Spiess, Managing Director-Europe for Midway Games Ltd. in London, UK. "We consider ourselves very fortunate to have an experienced industry veteran like Antoine Seux running this new operation, and look forward to his future contribution."
