'Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach' European Pre-Order Campaign Launched

by Rainier on Feb. 8, 2006 @ 9:19 a.m. PST

Dungeons & Dragons Online (DDO) is a free-to-play MMORPG with hybrid combat that combines the action of a video game with the familiar stat-system of traditional D&D.

The special pre-order pack will be available in shops across Europe from February 10th, and contains a DVD of the BETA client and exclusive artwork, and two serial numbers; one for guaranteed access to the European BETA until just prior to the launch of the English language game, and the other for head start access into the final game three days before the servers are opened to the public at launch.

Pre-ordering has the added benefit of giving players two valuable in-game items, namely an Amulet of +1 Armour Class usable by any class or race and, exclusive to European pre-order customers, the Ring of Haggling which gives players permanent discounts when buying items from vendors throughout the city of Stormreach.

"We've worked closely with Turbine and Codemasters to offer our European customers a genuinely valuable incentive to fans who order Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach early," said Cyril Voiron, Marketing Director, Atari Europe. "The level of interest the title has already generated amongst the communities will convert into a wave of pre-orders across Europe once the fans see the real benefits pre-ordering brings."

Developed by Turbine, Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach is published in Europe by Atari, with community management, server hosting and subscription management by Codemasters. With the European BETA for Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach now live and the number of subscribers growing fast, European MMOG players are already enjoying a taste for what the game offers. Fans can sign up for the beta at www.ddo-europe.com for the chance to play the game early.

Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach is the first and only massively multiplayer online roleplaying game based on the world-renowned Dungeons & Dragons brand franchise from Wizards of the Coast. This unique online world features highly customizable characters built from authentic Dungeons & Dragons races, abilities, skills, and feats; real-time action combat; dangerous dungeons with devious traps; hand-crafted, private adventures; monsters and stories from the action-packed and intrigue-laced Eberron campaign setting; and award-winning visuals.
