'Mindscape Kakuro' Announced

by Rainier on March 13, 2006 @ 5:36 p.m. PST

Mindscape today introduced the next puzzle craze to hit a PC desktop near you, Mindscape Kakuro. If you do Sudoku. Sometimes called "Cross-sums" or "Kakro", Kakuro is often referred to as Sudoku's bigger (and tougher) brother. The game operates along the same nine number principles as its forebear, only now a new dimension of complexity awaits puzzle fans looking for a fresh challenge.

The object of Kakuro is to place the numbers one to nine in blocks of two to nine squares running both horizontally and vertically in a grid. Each row also has its own number attached, which the entered numbers must add up to in order to complete the puzzle.

Confused? You will be, but fear not, Mindscape Kakuro comes complete with comprehensive puzzle aids such as the 'Clue Combination Tool' and help menu should you get stuck, as well as a full undo and redo history to backtrack through the game.

With over 100 grid sizes, fully customisable game board and five distinct difficulty levels, Mindscape Kakuro is a puzzle challenge for all ages. If that isn't enough to keep you going, Mindscape has included a copy of its previous hit, Mindscape Sudoku to provide the complete number-crunching puzzle package!

Mindscape Kakuro is available now for PC from Mindscape, priced £9.99.
