Krome Studios announces the opening of a new studio in Adelaide, Australia, bringing its number of employees to more than 180. Krome Studios with the help of the Adelaide team is in development on a series of high profile game projects for the current and next gen consoles and handheld platforms.

“We are fortunate to be in a position that allows us to grow our business and staff,” says CEO of Krome Studios Robert Walsh. “In order to stay globally competitive as a leading independent game developer, we felt that we needed to expand ourselves and our ability, thus the opening of the Adelaide studio.”

The team that makes up the Krome Studios Adelaide studio are comprised of highly seasoned talent who have previously worked together at other game companies within the local Australian scene. Their experience coupled with the well respected team based in the Brisbane headquarters compliment one another and positions Krome Studios as a major development force within the gaming industry.

More over, the Australian games community houses a vast pool of talent which has produced many of the industry’s most successful titles. The formation of Krome Studios’ Adelaide office clearly demonstrates the company’s commitment to both the local gaming industry as well as the global community. Much success is anticipated by the opening of the new studio both by industry leaders and the general gaming community.

Krome Studios is an award-winning company, best known for creating the hit original game franchise, TY the Tasmanian Tiger™ which has sold over two million units worldwide to date. In 2004, Krome became one of the few game developers to take its own intellectual property from games to animation by joining forces with DPS Film Roman, an IDT Entertainment Company, and the leading animation company known for the hit shows “The Simpsons™” and “King of The Hill”, to create television and DVD productions featuring the characters from TY the Tasmanian Tiger. The project is currently in development.
