'Take Command 2nd Manassas' Goes Gold

by Rainier on April 12, 2006 @ 8:56 a.m. PDT

Paradox Interactive announced today that their next big April release, Take Command 2nd Manassas, has gone gold. The strategy title plays out during Americas Civil War and brings the struggle between unionists and confederates to life like never before.

“We believe that while many factors build a successful strategy game, the single most important one is strong gameplay, something that is reflected in our entire portfolio, says

Fredrik W Lindgren, Director of Publishing at Paradox Interactive. “MadMinute Games has taken that notion even further by creating a game with immense replayability and options for customization. Strategy fans will find much to immerse themselves into.”

Features include:

  • 48 Scenarios from the three most important battles of the 2nd Manassas Campaign
  • Linked Scenario Tree, where results of one battle carry over into the next
  • 5 Gigantic battlefield maps based on historical records from the Library of Congress; the most accurate American Civil War battlefield maps available in a PC game
  • 3 Modes of gameplay: Historical, Open Play, and Custom/User Created Battles
  • Control thousands of troops and direct them over 3D terrain (including Generals, Infantry, Cavalry, Artillery and Supply Wagons)
  • Accurate ballistics for weapons
  • The ability to play as any leader in Custom/Open Play Battles

Take Command 2nd Manassas is rated T by ESRB, 3+ by PEGI and 12 years by USK. The suggested retail price is USD/EUR 39.99 and the title will be shipping to stores on April 18 in North America and Scandinavia, April 21 in Germany and May 5 in the UK.
