'Metal Gear Solid' (PSP) Revealed

by Rainier on May 6, 2006 @ 1:41 p.m. PDT

In his latest podcast, Hideo Kojima confirmed the development of a MGS installment for the PSP, scheduled for fall 2007. Set in the 1970's, the PSP iteration will be set between MGS 3 and 4, and explain Foxhound's origin, and have Big Boss as the main character. Unlike the recent cardbased games, the new title will be an action game, wi-fi enabled, graphically on par with the franchise on PS2, feature several alternative pathways & solutions to missions and oddly enough the game will feature no "continues," when soldiers die, they are not coming back. How well that will translate in actual gameplay will hopefully explain itself later...
