'Planet 51' (ALL) Revealed

by Rainier on Nov. 27, 2007 @ 10:18 p.m. PST

Planet 51 is a galactic sized alien adventure comedy from the writer of "Shrek" and "Shrek 2", the story revolves around American astronaut Captain Charles "Chuck" Baker who lands on Planet 51 thinking he's the first person to step foot there. To his surprise he finds that this planet is inhabited by little green people who are happily living in a white picket fence world, reminiscent of a cheerfully innocent 1950s America, and whose only fear is that it will be overrun by alien invaders...like Chuck!
A few years back Spanish Commandos developer Pyro Studios created Ilion Animation Studios to get foot in the door in the movie industry, and it has just secured a $60 million deal with New Line Cinema for Planet 51, written by Shrek's Joe Stillman, scheduled for March 2009. Pyro Studios are developing a game based on the movie, presumably on Wii, PS2, X360, PS3 and PC. You are Capt. Charles "Chuck" Baker, an astronaut unwittingly invading Planet 51, who has to avoid being captured, recover your spacecraft, and return to Earth. Both projects are tentatively scheduled for March 2009.
