Industry Veterans Launch Detn8 Games

by Rainier on March 21, 2007 @ 3:10 p.m. PDT

Video game industry veterans Ellen Fuog and Jeff Hill have created publishing venture Detn8 Games Ltd., which will focus on games for console and handheld hardware. The company has acquired all-platform licensee status with Nintendo and SCEA and is scheduled to publish its first release in June, 2007.

Detn8’s two principals have a combined 51 years in the video game industry. “We’ve been around since the Mattel Intellivision days and each of us has owned and operated game-related companies in the past,” comments Ms. Fuog, the company’s president. “We’ve worked for and with many game publishers. It’s just time to take this step into publishing on our own.”

Ms. Fuog has a total of 28 years experience in the video game industry. Most recently, she founded and served as president of UK-based Ignition Entertainment’s US operation from its inception in 2002 until 2006. Prior to Ignition, Ms. Fuog was president (and founder) of AIA USA, vice president of sales and marketing for Jaleco USA, and vice president of sales and marketing for Kaneko Entertainment – all video game publishers. Before that, she was vice president of sales and marketing for WICO, a joystick and peripheral manufacturer. In the 1980’s, Ms. Fuog ran her own sales rep company, Ellen Fuog Associates.

Mr. Hill, who started in the video game business in 1984 as a tester for Mindscape, has operated his own company, Black Sheep, Inc., since 1994. Black Sheep is involved in software testing, consulting, and customer support. Before starting his own company, Mr. Hill served as product development director for Kaneko Entertainment and Jaleco USA. Mr. Hill has a total of 23 years experience in the video game industry.
