Fans have called for the game to launch for PS3, and D3Publisher responded favorably to the requests by brokering a plan that presents both the original game and the extremely robust expansion content together in one download, via a single purchase through the PlayStation Store. This announcement confirms Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords will be available for all major home videogaming systems, meeting popular demand by making sure every gamer can play no matter the platform.
“Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords crafted a new genre when it launched in 2007, and players’ enthusiasm for fresh experiences spurred D3 to release the game across every major gaming system in our current market,” said Peter Andrew, vice president of product development, D3Publisher. “We plan to bring an equally inspiring gameplay experience to players across the globe with Puzzle Quest: Galactrix in early 2009, so prepare for more nights of puzzle tiles dancing behind your eyelids!”
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords tasks players to engage in battles fought by means of competitive, head-to-head and “match-three” style puzzle games in one of three gameplay modes: Single-player, Instant Action or Multiplayer. Victory will advance a players’ customizable hero, magical arsenal, creature companions and more – ultimately rewarding gamers at nearly every turn and deepening their immersion into the richly diverse world. The Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords- Revenge of the Plague Lord expansion pack offers fans hours of additional gameplay, with four brand new Hero Professions: Bard, Rogue, Ranger and Warlock. Players adventure to surmount new quests, spells and magical items as they’re immersed into the compelling story of Antharg, the Lord of Plague and brother to the infamous Lord Bane. New conflicts challenge veteran and casual fans alike for hours of entertainment.

Puzzle Quest: Galactrix is under development by Infinite Interactive Pty. Ltd. and is confirmed for Xbox Live Arcade, NDS and PC, scheduled for release in early 2009.
