Europe, at the beginning of the 20th century: The beautiful dancer Mata Hari has collective manhood at her command. The performances of the native Dutch girl as an oriental nude dancer are an overwhelming success in the unbounded luxury and enjoyment of life of the Belle Epoque.
Mata Hari’s gamy presentations on wild parties of the ‚Belle Époque’ attract influential circles from industry and politics among the attractive Swiss Oscar Samsonet. He concludes that exotic dancer Mata Hari would be perfect for his further plans. Samsonet appeals to her thirst for adventures and baits her with easy money: Mata Hari becomes a spy.
Her finesse, her charm and her persuasiveness will help Mata Hari to find out highly critical secrets. Soon she gets caught in crossfire: The entente has a merciless arms race with the central powers – the world is at the brink of world war one.
To ensure spying success and gather the information needed, PC gamers will need to make use of Mata Hari’s seduction abilities. They will also perform dances on stage to earn money: Therefore, the game offers a special gaming mode in which players have to follow the beat of Mata’s dancing music. Stylized notes float in and over the screen. Players try to catch them by following the beat at the right time and place by using their mouse cursor. The better players follow the beat the more money they will earn. At the end of the game, all earned money will be summed up to evaluate their dancing success.
“For all fans of pure classic point & click adventure gameplay, we included an option in the game which allows you to skip the dancing gaming mode and to focus on solving the point & click quests.
The dancing gameplay is a fun addition to the adventure game which is a very important part of Mata Hari’s life, which we are portraying in this PC game. Additionally, it is reminiscent of the unique point collecting method our developer legends Hal and Noah used in their famous adventure games of the past”, explains Claas Wolter, Senior PR Manager at dtp entertainment.
