Interzone Futebol is a virtual world game centered on futebol (soccer in the U.S.), the most popular sport in the world. The first city in this virtual world is Rio de Janeiro, and includes not only player-controlled futebol action and competitions, but also includes a 3D world of Rio complete with neighborhoods, shops, social interaction with friends, and the club scene with the music which plays such an important role in the lives of youth culture in Brazil and around the world.

Romario lead the Brazilian World Cup Team to a 1994 World Cup Championship, and has scored over 1,000 career goals.

Romario starts today a full schedule of television and radio interviews, and will make promotional appearances across Brazil. He will also write a Portuguese blog on the Interzone site called Blog do Romário, which will be hosted on the Interzone site.

Paul Oakenfold will score the studio’s upcoming MMOG (Massively Multiplayer Online Game) Interzone Futebol. Oakenfold’s talent is a natural fit for this project – he’s been named as one of the world’s leading DJ/remixers by Remix, CNN, Rolling Stone, BPM, and others, and is also listed in The Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s most popular DJ.

Exact release dates have not been announced, but Interzone Futebol is planned to launch in Portuguese for the Brazilian market in 4Q08, closely followed by an international version.
