Sony Rolling Out Minor v5.02 PSP Firmware Update

Sony announced the availability of the v5.02 system software update for PSP improving overall stability to various applications, including the PSP Store.

Other new or revised features in 5.02 (with 5.00 and 5.01):

Settings

  • [Title Display] has been added as an option under video settings (Video Settings).
  • [USB Auto Connect] has been added as an option under system settings (System Settings).
  • 3000 series [Backlight Auto-Adjust] has been added as an option under power save settings (Power Save Settings).

Music

  • Sleep timer (Sleep Timer) has been added as an option on the control panel > See details

Video

  • The number of file types that can be played has been increased.

Other

  • New for 5.02: System software stability during use of some features, including PlayStation®Store, has been improved.
  • The background of the XMB (XrossMediaBar) screen has been redesigned.
  • You can now use a full-size on-screen keyboard.
