About Judy

As WP's managing editor, I edit review and preview articles, attempt to keep up with the frantic pace of Rainier's news posts, and keep our reviewers on deadline, which is akin to herding cats. When I have a moment to myself and don't have my nose in a book, I like to play action/RPG, adventure and platforming games.

by Judy on Feb. 20, 2008 @ 10:42 a.m. PST

Stranger is a real-time strategy game, with elements of role playing games set in a world, split in two parts, surface and a subterranean one, which are in a tenuous balance. Stranger will also feature multiplayer, although details beyond "The players may play on their own, or unite in teams" are a bit sketchy.

Stranger is an RPG blended with the best elements of RTS.

An innovative and never-before-seen magical system allows to select one's strategy and tactics in the course of a battle and thus giving an adequate answer to an enemy's turn - you will be surprised by its simplicity and variety at the same time. Hiring, training and control over squads of infantry and archers - you will take part in clarification of the eternal question of what more is important - might and weapon or cunning and magic. There are three heroes - different from each other, each one with own personality and preferences in combat and magic. What will happen when they assemble in a single squad? Colorful universe of Stranger inhabited not only with hundreds of types of monsters but also with intelligent tribes, which can either be your allies or enemies.
