by Rainier on Feb. 27, 2008 @ 4:08 a.m. PST

Another day, another batch of games shipped to stores. Instead of giving them all their own posts, we grouped them, and so far there are announcements for:

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (PS3)

Lost Planet is an epic gaming masterpiece combining a gripping single player campaign and intense multiplayer modes. Lost Planet contains sophisticated visuals, with an unmatched level of detail as advanced light sourcing is used to ensure a realistic presentation that enhances every explosion, smoke and particle effect. Enormous world maps unfold as players battle hostile creatures in blistering weather conditions across vast snowfields and blazing volcanic areas either on foot or in armed, robotic Vital Suits.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition for the PS3 system will release with a number of specific features not previously available in retail editions of the 360 or PC versions of the game:

PS3 Specific Features:

  • All 16 previously released multiplayer maps (including the extra downloadable content from Xbox LIVE) included on the disc.
  • New unlockable characters for single and multiplayer mode, including Frank West from Dead Rising, Megaman, and others.

Lost Planet also features:

  • Intense multiplayer modes with support for up to 16 players online.
  • Lost Planet is a fast-paced third-person shooter with all the depth, intrigue and intensity of a science fiction classic.
  • Connect to gamers around the world via PSNetwork and participate in a variety of cooperative and versus battles with up to 16 players:
    • Elimination - It’s every snow pirate for themselves in this death match mode where the victorious are rewarded for the most points earned.
    • Team Elimination – You’re only as good as your teammates so strategy and cooperation is key in eliminating the opposing side.
    • Post Grab - Teams are tasked with capturing and holding as many Posts as possible.
    • Fugitive - One player is assigned as the “Fugitive”, and he or she will earn points for various actions (staying alive, killing enemies, capturing Posts). Dying deducts points and winning is determined when a maximum total is reached or when the score ticks down to zero.
  • Command high powered VS and weapons not only to help players traverse the treacherous terrain, but to eliminate enemies that lie ahead. Strategically switch between VS and on foot gameplay to best face each situation and challenge.
  • Snowstorms, arctic winds, towering buildings and mountains of ice are all stunningly realized as battles occur above and below ground, creating a truly immersive and cinematic event of epic proportions.
  • The creators of the critically acclaimed Onimusha® and Devil May Cry series have come together to create the expansive world of Lost Planet.

Lost Planet, rated “T” for Teen, carries a suggested retail price of $39.99.

SEGA Bass Fishing (Wii)

Developed exclusively for the Wii™, SEGA Bass Fishing is the latest addition to one of the most successful fishing game franchises of all time.

SEGA Bass Fishing returns with all-new intuitive controls that fully utilize the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. When players hook a big one, they can use the motion sensor to reel it in. With over 20 different types of lures to choose from, gamers can cast off using the Wii Remote to try to land one of four different types of freshwater bass. SEGA Bass Fishing also offers gamers the freedom to select time-of-day and season during play which impacts the activity of the fish, as well as their appetite and their depth. Featuring 15 beautifully designed lake environments, SEGA Bass Fishing has four fun-filled game modes including Arcade, Tournament, Practice and Nature Trip.

SEGA Bass Fishing, rated "E" for Everyone, is now available in stores throughout North America for $29.95.

Blokus Portable: Steambot Championship (PSP)

Developed by IREM, Blokus Portable brings the board game to the PSP with a winning combo that includes the original four-player Blokus, two-player Blokus Travel/Duo and the endearing anime characters from Steambot Chronicles.

"The PSP version of Blokus captures the same exciting strategic play that has helped its board game counterparts build a worldwide fan base of three million players," said Gui Karyo, Executive Vice President of Operations, Majesco. "We think the consumer-friendly price point coupled with the award-winning board game content is a perfect mix of value and addictive gameplay."

The rules of Blokus are simple: Each player places his/her pieces on the board in turn, ensuring that pieces of the same color touch at one or more corners, but never along the sides. The objective is to strategize and place as many pieces as you can before your opponent/s beats you to it. Based on the same basic rules and intuitive gameplay that earned the board game 26 prestigious awards, Blokus Portable allows up to 16 people to play in ad hoc wireless mode, or up to three friends to play simultaneously using one UMD in the ad hoc game sharing mode. Blokus Portable also lets players customize their own character and unlock 18 additional characters from the Steambot Chronicles series.

Blokus Portable: Steambot Championship, rated E for Everyone, is now available on the PSP for a suggested retail price of $19.99.

Homie Rollerz (NDS)

Homie Rollerz is a fast-paced, mayhem-laden racer where players can pick one of the 10 most popular Homies, customize their slick rides, then trick, hop, and battle through courses with settings, shortcuts, and secrets as unique as the Homies themselves.

“It’s been a pleasure working closely with Destineer through this entire process,” said David Gonzales, creator of Homies. “I believe my fans will appreciate the storylines and most importantly, the fun of racing through the various tracks with some of the same popular characters they already have in their prized Homies collections.”

Created by acclaimed artist David Gonzales and developed exclusively for the Nintendo DS, Homie Rollerz offers a variety of gameplay options, including:

  • Trick Out and Roll Out: Earn respect points by doing stunts and winning races, then cash them in to trick out your car! Use the stylus to mod your ride, fit your car with a better engine for more speed, beef up your suspension and hydraulic systems for better turning and cooler tricks when racing, and more.
  • Rivalries and Respect: Take on your fellow Homies on their turf. Challenge Jokawild under the big top in the Homie Circus, drag race down Venice Beach against Big Loco and more. To win, you’ve got to learn the hoods, find the shortcuts, earn respect, and show your Homies who owns the street! Use your hydraulics to get extra bounce off of jumps, tilt up on two wheels to sneak through narrow secret alleys, and unleash wild weapons to keep opponents off your back.
  • Multiplayer: Is one of your friends challenging your street cred? Show them who owns the hood with up to 8 players via Wireless Multi-Card play. Homie Rollerz also supports Single Card play, so you and another Homie can play a limited version using only one card!
  • Get to Know the Homies: Play as one of 10 slick Homies and enter the “Wizard Circuit,” a mysterious racing series through which the winner is granted a single wish by the wise and legendary Homie known as Wizard. Each character has a unique vehicle that can be upgraded in the garage for improved stats. Learn what’s motivating each of your Homies: Why is Alien Ese stuck on Earth and how can he get back home? How did Zombie become undead and will he ever return to the land of the living?

Developed by Webfoot, Homie Rollerz scheduled to be in stores today release for a suggested retail price of $29.99.
