by Rainier on May 13, 2008 @ 5:24 a.m. PDT

Another day, another batch of games shipped to stores. Instead of giving them all their own posts, we grouped them, and so far there are announcements for:

Castle of Shikigami III (Wii)

Castle of Shikigami III is a vertical scrolling shoot-'em-up for Wii that's based on the hit arcade title Shikigami no Shiro. The story takes place in the calm and forgotten kingdom of Alcaland, a relatively small country that has suddenly been struck by a series of mysterious events which have caused people to disappear and go into comas. You play the role of one of 10 psychics who have been reluctantly hired by the royal family to investigate and solve this mystery.

Key Features:

  • Tension Bonus System: Your proximity to enemy units and gunfire determines your score and firepower!
  • 10 memorable characters: Each character has their own specialized weapons and powers, anything from chain lightning to psychic blades!
  • 55 possible story combinations: Experience a wide variety of scenarios with fully voiced dialogue!
  • 2 Player Co-op Mode: Dodge a never-ending barrage of bullets alone or with a friend!
  • Exclusive console-only Dramatic Change Mode: Switch between two characters in the middle of the fight to improve your chances for survival!

Castle of Shikigami III has been rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB.

"Castle of Shikigami III is a nice throwback to arcade shooters: simple to pick up and play, but difficult to master," said Michael Manzanares, Project Lead. "If you’re looking for a good time with a hilarious cast of characters or seeking a battlefield swarmed with grunts and gunfire, Castle of Shikigami won’t disappoint."

Deca Sports (Wii)

Combining ten sporting events into one game, players can compete in beach volleyball, snowboard cross, badminton, basketball, curling, figure skating, archery, supercross, soccer and kart racing.

"Deca Sports has been a highly anticipated title in the minds of the enthusiast media and consumers alike almost immediately from the time we announced it was coming to the U.S. market," said John Greiner, President of Hudson Entertainment. "With summer on the horizon, we anticipate Deca Sports being a popular choice for those looking for a fun-filled Wii experience."

Deca Sports offers an immersive experience for players of any age, motivating them to get off of the couch and up on their feet for hours of entertainment. The game offers a wide variety of sporting events and activities, some rarely seen in a video game. Designed with pick-up-and-play intuitive controls for the Wii Remote™ and in three sports, the Nunchuk, Deca Sports also includes advanced controls for power spikes, curls, and mid air tricks for the gamer!

All ten sports support both single and multiplayer modes. Up to 4 players can compete on one system and in several events, co-op on the same team. Single player modes include Open Match, Tournament (one sport competition between eight teams), Deca League (ten sport decathlon between eight teams) and Deca League (time/point based challenge mode). Team and player management is an important aspect of the game as certain players are better at certain sports. In the Deca League mode gamers must maneuver their players through ten sports as well as manage their fatigue levels through the competition. Awards are also a big part of the game, as the Locker Room feature allows players to keep track of their medals and trophies.

Deca Sports, rated E for Everyone, is now available at retail for $29.99 SRP.

"Myst has been an inspiration to game developers and Hollywood writers for some time now," said Karim Farghaly, Vice President of Sales, Empire Interactive. "It will surely continue to inspire everything from video games to hit television shows for years to come, as new generations of gamers begin their mysterious journey on Nintendo DS."

"We took great pleasure in re-creating such a well-known game for DS," said Manny Granillo, President, Hoplite Research, LLC. "Myst already has a dedicated fanbase and they will not be disappointed with the portable version of the original classic adventure."
