Tuesday, August 5, 2008 Shipping Announcements Another day, another batch of games shipped to stores. Instead of giving them all their own posts, we grouped them, and so far there are announcements for:

FlatOut Ultimate Carnage (PC)

While simulation racers have traditionally found their home on PCs, FlatOut Ultimate Carnage blurs the line between arcade and simulation. PC gamers can have a ``deathproof'' experience with carnage gameplay modes and enhanced graphics that rival the Xbox 360 version. Multiplayer online provides wheel-to-wheel action as opponents try to fishtail other cars and get across the finish line in a ``no holds barred'' extreme driving smash fest.

Little League World Series 2008 (NDS/Wii)

Developed by NOW Production specifically for Nintendo's platforms, the game captures the competitive fun of the most popular organized youth sport in the world.

"This is the first officially licensed Little League game for these platforms and the controls have been masterfully crafted for accessibility," said Dave Oxford, Activision Publishing. "This is a game that can be enjoyed by the entire family."

Little League World Series 2008 features eight U.S. and eight international teams, extraordinarily deep character customization, World Series mode, and a full season mode that will challenge even the biggest Little League fan. In addition, six mini-game "Skill Challenges", stat tracking, talent power ups, and a range of collectibles give the title variety and depth.

The game arrives just in time for the real life Little League World Series, which takes place in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania from August 15-24. The Little League® World Series 2008 game will be on hand for players, fans, and press to take a crack at.

Little League World Series 2008, rated "E" for Everyone, is now available for $49.99 for Wii and $29.99 for NDS.

Great Invasions (PC)

Now players can take command of one or more nations during the Dark Ages and try to survive and succeed in any way they see fit!

David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said “Great Invasions includes so many civilizations and unlimited ways to conquer them! That versatility coupled with an easy user interface and proven gameplay makes for hours of fun as you build an empire second to none. We’re pleased to bring this classic title to our customers at a bargain price.”

Are you a Roman Emperor or a Tribal Chieftain – or both? Do you dream of conquering Europe at the head of a trained and proper army or of a barbarian horde? With Great Invasions, anything is possible!

Take command of several of almost 80 playable nations throughout 700 years of history starting in 350 AD, and lead each of your historical nations from birth through growth, stability and decline. It will not be easy to expand or, indeed, survive across the centuries - but master the arts of diplomacy, war, economics, and administration and there will be no limit to your ambitions!
