Developed by Spellborn International, The Chronicles of Spellborn will introduce gameplay that challenges MMO gaming conventions. No longer will back stories be irrelevant, players will move back and forth in time to experience the storyline. The Spellborn team has thrown out the old "auto lock" MMO attack system. Players will actively maneuver and aim in combat while they manipulate a "skill deck" that allows them to string together hundreds of different possible attack combinations. Also, armour and weapons do NOT affect combat so players can dress exactly how they like from the very start. Finally, the successes and failures of every player from the lowest to the highest levels will determine the fate of their House and the rest of the world.
Players selected to participate in the closed beta will be the first ones to experience this new model in MMO gaming. They will assist the developers in testing gameplay and provide feedback directly to the developers. The closed beta test began with a limited number of applicants. More beta testers will be added periodically over the next few months. In early 2006, the Spellborn International team plans to hold a large-scale open/stress beta test. The Chronicles of Spellborn Timeline
Age of Expansion (525 AC - 631 AC)
- Venturing into the Deadspell Storm through the use of their newly raised Vhelgar steeds, the Houses discover the Shard Parliament.

They are Lesser Vhelgar hatched from the eggs of the Vhelgar Queen Satanamura. These Vhelgar were tamed to allow transport through the Deadspell Storm. As the Vhelgar were not easily broken, they remained a rather dangerous means of transportation. Nevertheless, it allowed the Enclave to discover new Shards.
The first Shard to be discovered by the High Houses after awakening on Quarterstone was Parliament in 526 AC. Hawksmouth was founded there and in order to let Quarterstone develop properly, all forms of politics were moved to Hawksmouth. Only later, when the Enclave of the Five Sacrifices was formed, would the High House structures be built.
As such, Parliament would turn into the political center for the Enclave. The Enclave Palace in Quarterstone would still serve as the official capitol for the Enclave, but in truth all policies and legislations would stem from the High Houses in Parliament. The Enclave Palace would only serve to ceremonially pass any of the policies and legislations and present them to the public.
At present Parliament also serves as the training grounds for new recruits joining the Enclave Militia. Most of them are stationed at idyllic Hawksmouth and its pleasant neighboring docks area, Hawk’s Landing. Other regions where Militia recruits can be found honing their skills include Aldenvault; a rough farmland area where wildlife from the surrounding forest roams freely. Further north lays Hoggsridge; an almost completely forested area in which House Maul has a single stronghold because of their constant conflict with a vicious group of Ousted that has settled there as well.
