'Combat Mission Shock Force: Marines' Goes Gold

by Rainier on Sept. 11, 2008 @ 2:05 p.m. PDT

Combat Mission Shock Force: Marines is the first of several planned expansions of the Combat Mission contemporary warfare setting. This, first Module, adds a significant number of new formations, units, weapons, equipment and vehicles for both the US and Syrian sides, as well as brand new missions, maps and a campaign focusing on the US Marine Corps. General game engine improvements (such as TacAI changes, tweaking cover values and so on) are being included as well.

This, the first Module, adds a significant number of new formations, units, weapons, equipment and vehicles for both the US and Syrian sides, as well as brand new missions, maps and a campaign. General game engine improvements (such as Tactical Artificial Intelligence improvements, tweaking cover values and so on) are included as well, although they are also available to all Shock Force customers. This ensures that everybody plays by the same rules and experiences the same basic gameplay.

You still have the opportunity to PRE-ORDER Combat Mission Shock Force: Marines and profit from the $10 discount on the "Download & Hardgoods Delivery" option! But hurry! The offer expires as soon as the game is released!

Once the game switches from Pre-Order to Release status later this month, you will be able to choose from three delivery options: Download Only ($25), Hardgoods Only (via mail - $25 plus S&H), and Download & Hardgoods ($35 plus S&H).

In all cases, ownership of the base game - Combat Mission Shock Force - is required. It doesn't matter which version you own (retail, Battlefront.com etc.) - MARINES will work with all game versions. If you don't own CMSF, no worries - we offer a special Bundle version of the base game + the Marines Module for just $45 as well!

All pre-order customers will be notified by email a few hours before the official release announcement and will be able to download the game immediately AND will receive the hardgoods by mail when available. We are expecting Hardgoods (specifically consisting of: DVD case, CD, and printed MARINES Manual, including a hotkey chart printed on the inside cover) to be available 2-4 weeks after the official download release.

While the MARINES module is being prepared for release, we are also going to finalise a large - no, make that HUGE - v1.10 patch for the base game CMSF. This v1.10 patch literally brings the game to another level. It is already fully INCLUDED in the Marines Module (i.e. Marines module owners will NOT have to patch). The v1.10 is expected to be released within a few days after the launch of the Marines module and will be free to all owners of Combat Mission Shock Force, adding many new features, improvements and even some new units to the game.
