Nintendo Co., Ltd., an interactive entertainment company based out of Kyoto, Japan, manufactures and markets hardware and software for its Wii, Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi systems. Since 1983, when it launched the Nintendo Entertainment System, Nintendo has sold more than 3.1 billion video games and more than 526 million hardware units globally, including the current-generation Wii, Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi, as well as the Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Super NES, Nintendo 64 and Nintendo GameCube systems. It has also created industry icons that have become well-known, household names such as Mario, Donkey Kong, Metroid, Zelda and Pokémon. A wholly owned subsidiary, Nintendo of America Inc., based in Redmond, Wash., serves as headquarters for Nintendo’s operations in the Western Hemisphere.
On Nov. 6 in the UK, and Nov. 20 in the rest of Europe (Nov.16 in North America), Nintendo introduces new black versions, including a black Wii console itself.
The new black Wii Remote controller will be available packaged with a black Wii MotionPlus accessory, which brings enhanced precision to games. The package will be available at a suggested retail price of $49.99. The black Nunchuk controller will be available separately at a suggested retail price of $19.99.More articles about Nintendo
