Inspired by this summer's blockbuster "Star Trek" movie from Paramount Pictures, Star Trek: D-A-C is a fast-paced, top-down space shooter where players take the captain's chair and engage in intense online multi-player or co-op battles. In addition to featuring the gameplay and ships XBLA fans enjoyed in May, Star Trek: D-A-C will feature a PlayStation Network-exclusive new ship class and updated gameplay features.

Star Trek: D-A-C allows fans to pitch battles between Starfleet and the Romulan Empire. Up to 12 players can compete in thrilling team combat. There are three game play modes - single player, online multiplayer and online co-op. For each mode, there are three different game types - Team Deathmatch, Assault and Conquest.

Players can now choose from four ship types for each faction, including the new U.S.S. Enterprise featured in the "Star Trek" film. Each ship - the powerful Flagship, the aggressive Fighter, the nimble Bomber and the all-new Support Frigate - offers its own unique capabilities for players to master and manipulate as they fight for victory. The Support Frigate allows players to heal friendly ships and easily target enemy escape pods.

New Survival Mode:

Rounding out its three pre-existing multiplayer game types - Team Deathmatch, Conquest and Assault - Star Trek: D-A-C will now feature a single player type - Survival Mode. In Survival Mode, Starfleet captains select between four ships and are challenged to shoot down as many Romulan enemy drones as they can, progressing through four rounds with five different zones each before their three lives run out. When destroyed, the drones drop special pick-ups that help players win more lives and move up the Starfleet ranks and leader boards. Players will battle AI controlled Romulan ships and three new ships types in Survival Mode:

  • Space Pirate: a quick, nimble flyer that awards the most loot of all three drones
  • Ramming Drone: an offensive fighter that commonly uses kamikaze attacks to crash into Federation starships
  • Demolition Drone: a slower model that assaults through explosions, obliterating everything around it
Survival Mode also features a point-based pick-up system and two new "special" performance pick-ups:
  • Temporal Shift: everything slows down - except you
  • Fire Everything: fire all of your weapons without depleting your energy stores
In addition to the new drones and pick-ups, enemies in Survival Mode are also differentiated by color - red for the most aggressive, yellow for the mid-level enemies and green for the least hostile drones. Plan your attack and fire away!

As players' standings increase with their performance, they will climb the Starfleet ranks, beginning as Crewmen and potentially rising as high as Commander in Chief!
