'Tom Clancy's EndWar' (ALL) Rolls Out Free Veteran Map Pack

by Rainier on March 27, 2009 @ 6:29 a.m. PDT

Set on the battlefields of World War III, Tom Clancy's EndWar will push the envelope of technology, showcasing artificial intelligence, graphics, physics and animations that were not possible prior to the launch of the new hardware systems. Tom Clancy's EndWar has been built from the ground up as a revolutionary war strategy game solely for next-generation platforms.

Experience World War III in your living room with Tom Clancy’s EndWar, a revolutionary new war game built to maximize next-generation gaming consoles and completely controllable by voice.

A chillingly relevant storyline pits superpower against superpower in all-out war—with you in command. You'll take control of the US-led Joint Strike Force, the European Enforcers Corps, or the Russian Spetsnaz Guards Brigade in a single-player campaign or online against friends in a persistent-world Theater of War mode. EndWar goes beyond other war games by letting you use your own voice to control your units, offering you true control of the action at the speed of thought.

Instead of the traditional top-down view, EndWar uses a unique third-person camera that puts you in the heart of the battle. Watch the devastation unfold as hundreds of units engage the enemy on fully destructible battlefields.

Cover, suppression, morale and many other elements of combat are taken into account as you battle your way across Europe and the United States. True to the Tom Clancy legacy, EndWar offers a wide range of vehicles, weapons, and equipment based on real-world military research, giving you unprecedented access to the cutting-edge technology of tomorrow’s wars.

The "Veteran Map Pack” contains two exclusive missions on new battlefields playable in skirmish mode for battle-hardened commanders on the Xbox 360 and the PS3. New missions include the assault on Russia's Cosmodrome and the conquest of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in Richton, Mississippi, USA. Take the challenge one step further command your troops through even fiercer battles.

The addition of amBX enhances this innovative game with real-world sensory experiences - using light, colour, rumble and even air flow - through licensed amBX peripherals, including LED lights, variable speed desktop fans and rumblers.

The agreement to amBX-enable EndWar will see a huge range of lighting effects add realism to the theatre of war, including colours that reflect the changing landscape, environment, weather formations and time of day, as well as creating a real sense of movement and immersion. Of course, dynamic weapon fire will flash fiercely whenever large weapons are discharged.

amBX rumble effects will accurately represent explosions, tremors and other vibration effects, such as shockwaves from nearby cannon fire. Simultaneous amBX fan effects will be used to deliver explosive shock waves and the sensation of fast moving vehicles or adding a chill to the air.

Tom Clancy's EndWar is currently available on PS3 and Xbox 360.
