Sword of the Stars is a breakthrough Space Strategy game that seeks to reinvigorate the sub-genre. Players will explore planets, manage their empire and research new technology. Sword of the Stars provides quick, intuitive play, state-of-the-art graphics and tactical combat that make the game instantly involving and rewardingly fun.

Sword of the Stars was originally released in August 2006 followed by two expansion packs; Born of Blood, released in June 2007, and A Murder of Crows, released October 2008.

Sword of the Stars was hailed as a major milestone in 4X Space Strategy games upon release, praised for its unique combination of turn based strategy and real-time space combat.

“We’re thrilled to be a part of Sword of the Stars series,” says Fredrik Wester, CEO of Paradox Interactive. “We look forward to continue bringing this game to market and further developing the IP with Kerberos for many years to come.”

“We here at Kerberos are excited to land the Sword of the Stars dreadnought with the fine crew at Paradox. Their excellent record of support combined with their love of games makes them the perfect home for the SotS franchise” said Martin Cirulis, President of Kerberos Productions.

The Sword of the Stars: Ultimate Collection, including the original game and the two expansions, will be released on April 17, 2009 on digital download portals GamersGate, Steam, Direct2Drive, Impulse, and Gametap.
